2009 Tilia Cabernet Sauvignon

On a whim we picked up two cheap bottles of wine from Wegmans, the grocery store that made me realize I could actually like and express loyalty to a grocery store. One of them was an $8.99 bottle of Tilia — the 2009 cab, to be exact. We popped it open within a half hour of getting home and it was gone an hour later. It has an approachable taste — nothing offensive or strong, just goodness. There wasn’t the robust flavor you might expect from some California cabs – it was actually very light – but that wasn’t a bad thing at all. Everyman can like it. So I say buy a bottle. I don’t think it’ll win any awards but I’d definitely drink a lot of it again. Six-and-a-half cans out of 10, with an extra half for the price.
