WinesInACan.com is written by two regular guys living a continent apart — one in Virginia, one in California. By “regular” we mean we have zero expertise in wine, other than that we drink it. 

Why did we start this blog? 

We began in 2010 when our domiciles were small and our dreams were big, and abandoned it after a brief but glorious stint because we each started having children. Between the kids, drinking, and blogging, we could only keep two — so we kept the kids and the drinking.

Why are we back? Three reasons:

1) We like wine — and beer and cocktails. A lot, actually;

2) This is good forcing function for us to try new things and not get stuck in a rut; and

3) We’re just arrogant enough to share our thoughts online. Of course, we highly doubt anyone other than us and our wives will ever see any of this, and we’re cool with that. Arrogant, yes, but also quite comfortable with our lack of importance in the universe.

We’re going to aim to keep this site light and entertaining, but we admit we might occasionally veer into things that are drinking-adjacent and not solely about a new bottle, glass, or can you really need to try. Like what? We’ll see. Just know there’s no limit to this exercise in vanity.
